Located in the Hydrothermal Mountain Region, the mineral water of the Manteigas is captured at about 100 metres deep, which guarantees bacteriological purity and physical-chemical stability. These waters, which flow from three distinct springs, reach high temperatures (48ºC), which makes them excellent for curing respiratory, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. Open from March to November, this spa located in Guarda district has a fully equipped hotel unit. During your stay you can visit the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, with its enormous biodiversity. There are also several mountain biking and hiking trails for sports and walking lovers.

SPA THERAPY
At Manteigas Spa it is possible to combine the therapeutic indications, respiratory, rheumatic and musculoskeletal, according to each one’s needs. In terms of therapeutic Spa, according to your pathology, you can have thermal treatments for health or prevention issues through medical monitoring.
Thus, in the room for the respiratory treatments, you can find the inhalation (nasal and mouth), nasal irrigations, spraying and gargling. In the pulmonology area, simple aerosols, oral inhalations, irrigations, showers and physiotherapy are used.
In terms of rheumatic and musculoskeletal problems, we have the immersion bath, the shower (jet and Scottish), the steam, the Vichy and computerized hydromassage bath, the hydromassage thermal pool and a walking corridor.
There is also a modern whirlpool adapted for people with reduced mobility. However, the above treatments can be accompanied by complementary treatments: massage, vertebral gymnastics, cervical traction, moist heat, ultrasound, infrared and shortwave.
